How's everything going for the Kowboy these days?
* Things are going great these days my schedule has been very busy working in Europe and Puerto Rico. Only 21 days of in 8 months so busy.
How was your recent stay in Puerto Rico?
* Puerto Rico was great I love it down there, IWA is a great company to work for, huge crowds between 5-20,000 people on there feet every night. They have the greatest fans in the world. The weather and beaches were great as well. Puerto Ricans love to party too so I fit in well .
I heard that one of your matches there ended up being one of the bloodiest in Puerto Pico history, with both you and your opponent ending up in the hospital. Can you tell us alittle about that match?
* The match was a Texas Death Match with Apollo. It was very physical as all our matches were. I busted him open early with a head butt and he paid me back with a vicious chair shot. A piece of the chair stuck in my head and cut a vien, it was gushing blood bad. I have a hole in my head still today from that. We went another 15 minutes after that and I was losing alot of blood, he was too, and the vain was still spurting. After the match I was white as a ghost and could stop the bleeding so they backed my head in ice and had me stitched up. I was exhausted for days because of the blood loss.
Now that your back home can you tell us what you know about the new promotion that will be starting up in 2005?
* I know Kingman and I have to finish our contract negotions first but everything that I've seen so far looks good, especially the talent pool that is available to us. The talent will be there so its up to the fans how successful the promotion will become.
What did the Kardinal Sinners mean to Maritime wrestling?
* We were a breathe of fresh air to the Maritimes and something that got the fans interest sparked again.
What do the Sinners mean to the future of Maritime wrestling?
* Possibly everything because if they can't sign us there will be no new promotion ,they wont run wuth out the Sinners.
Have you ever been contacted to wrestle for TNA?
* No
How do you feel former Kardinal Sinner Bobby Rude has done in TNA so far?
* Bobby as always is doing great, it's hard not to when your that talented, the best of Bobby in TNA is yet to come.
Do you think this new promotion can match what Grand-Prix did back in the 70's, 80's and 90's?
* I dont know ,TV will make it possible, but time will tell. It will be hard to match Emile's success in the 70, 80s because of WWE but I think with the fans in the Maritimes can make this something of there own.
Do you think people such as my self have a place in the wrestling business?
* If you bring something positive to the table yes if not then no.
Will this new promotion be based just in Nova Scotia? or will be it be based all over the Maritimes?
* It will be a Maritime promotion I believe.
Who are you looking at in terms of younger talent from around the Maritimes for the new promotion?
* Not really out looking for anyone ,if they want a place on the roster ,they better have the talent and ability and a body.
When will this new promotion be given a name?
* I dont know
Kingman was scheduled to fight in the UFC a few months ago but his opponent decided it would be best not too show up. Do you think you would ever compete in the UFC? what type of strategy would you have going in?
* If the money was right yes and the strategy would depend on the opponent.
The Maritime fans are custom to seeing Chi Chi Cruz, Gary Williams, Kingman, Bobby Rude, Eddie Watts and your self, hopefully some or all of those names mentioned will be apart of this new promotion. But who do you think will be here as new faces in the Maritimes, with talk of a talent exchange, who do you think will be coming in?
* I know The ROH crew is interested in coming to the maritimes,Dan Maff, Homicide ,BJ Whitmer,American Dragon, Nigel Mcguiness. Gangrel ,Viscera, Bruiser Kong from IWA japan, Bison Smith (Noah) ,Casy james, Primo Carnero. the interest has been overwhelming.
A wrestler from western Canada, Moondog Manson, has stated he also plans to run the Maritimes in the future, do you think this will effect this new promotion?
* He can run shows if he wants. He brings his show and the new promotion runs theres. Fans will decide. I'll take that above roster and throw in Kingman, Duke, Gary Williams ,Bobby Rude and myself against any roster.
A recent interview I did with Trash Canyon brought alot of attention. Alot of people thought he showed signs of disrespect towards you and his other trainers. Care to comment on this?
* He is a bitter little man. Its not are fault your a midget trash you should be mad at your parents.
As of September 12th 2004 how many matches do you have?
* Not sure wasnt counting, over 2000 i guess
During your stay down south you lost a friend , Victor "the Bodyguard" Rodriguez, Can you comment on him and what happened?
* Victor was a legend in PR and a hell of a leader in the locker room. Very well respected man. Victor and I were supose to run out to help Ray in a match. when I ran out there was no Victor, when I got to the back Victor was having a heart attack. we got him outside where Prophet and I started CPR on him .Prophet revived him and we put him on the stretcher. he crashed again on the stretcher and when we tried again to revive him he passed. His funeral was bigger than Elvis's I swear a million people lined the streets to the graveyard and his theme music played as the hearse arrived. Victor was a great man and father who died doing what he loved, he will be missed.
Any plans of returning overseas again before the new promotion starts?
* I'm heading to Germany for the Catch tournament. I'm very honoured to have been chosen .The history of people to be invite over the years,Guerreo,Benoit,Regal, Brett Hart, Dynamite Kid, Andre the Giant etc.
I know much like myself the fans would love to see Sweet Sarah Stock return to the Maritimes. Any plans to bring in any female talent?
* When they do Sarah will definately be the first called
Any plans to wrestle in Japan in the future?
* Negotiating right now
How is the Sinners school looking so far?
* Everything is going according to plan and there is only 1 spot currently available
Why the name change to Hangman Hughes in IWA?
* Luke Williams give me the name and I like it. I learned alot from luke
Will the Maritime wrestling scene be brought back to life in 2005?
* Its very possible but the trust and support of the fans is what makes a promotion
Any closing comments?
* This new promotion could be the last time someone gives the territory a chance ,get out and support it and help restore a maritime tradition of the best wrestling in the country.I'll be there so it has to be good.
